{The Best of} Our favorite Mexican restaurants for Cinco de Mayo!

Buenos días!!

The countdown begins for yet another holiday — sorry, not Mother’s Day just yet… but Cinco de Mayo!! Lucky for all parties involved, it falls on a Saturday this year, which means you can go ALL. OUT.

Here are a few of our favorite places to grab Mexican food (if you can’t tell already, it’s pretty much our favorite food genre).  Did we mention any of your faves?!

  • Plata {28914 Roadside Dr., Agoura Hills} — all-natural margaritas [try the blackberry + sage] + homemade tortilla chips!
  • Sabor Cocina Mexicana {2200 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., The Lakes, Thousand Oaks} — huuuuge margaritas [and a killer brunch for the next morning]
  • The Latigo Kid {NEW location: 5617 Kanan Rd., Agoura Hills} — Cadillac margaritas like WHOA.
  • Los Agaves {Shoppes at Westlake, Santa Barbara, and a NEW location at The Collection in Oxnard!] — amazingly delicious handmade tortillas and authentic Mexican cuisine at an affordable price. The best Taco Tuesday deals, too!
  • Sea Casa {Westlake Plaza} — fast-casual, with healthy options!
  • Bad Ass Tacos {2951 E Thousand Oaks Blvd} — serving up street tacos like you’d find in Mexico [without the risk of a stomach virus ;)]
  • Adobe Cantina {29100 Agoura Rd., Agoura Hills} — great outdoor patio, and their chips and salsa are delicious!
  • Lalo’s {530 New L.A. Ave, Moorpark} — full bar and truly authentic Mexican food!

Feel like having your own backyard fiesta? Grab a pound (or 4) of pre-marinated carne asada or pollo asado at Establos Meat Market {140 Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks} — our personal favorite.  You will NOT be disappointed!

What are your Cinco de Mayo plans??
