7 Reasons Why Brunch is a MUST at Outpost {The Goodland in Goleta}

As soon as we drove up to The Goodland Hotel located in beautiful Goleta, just miles north of downtown Santa Barbara, we were instantly obsessed. And I mean, instantly. Everything from the font used on their signage, the dreamy airstream trailers and green grass lawn out front, the eclectic decor and vibrant colors all throughout, the laid-back Southern California facade that transports you to a swank yet breezy Palm Springs hotel in the 70’s — yeah, I’d say The Goodland had me at hello.

Brunch date at Outpost at The Goodland Hotel - LocalLove805We are always on the lookout for a fun, new brunch spot. Especially one with outdoor seating, delicious food, a great drink selection and a laid-back atmosphere. Well, Outpost at The Goodland has all that and more. And I mean, way more.

Here are 7 reasons why the Outpost will be your new weekly go-to (not only for brunch, but also happy hour, lunch and dinner), and why we are OBSESSED with everything about it.

1. Awesome patio. We are big fans of patios. I mean, who isn’t? Okay, maybe if you live in the mid-west or East Coast but luckily that’s not us. We’re pretty spoiled when it comes to weather here in the 805 so it’s obvious that we like a beautiful patio to soak it all in:)

2. Even better vibes. The Outpost has such a fantastic vibe to it. Seriously, as soon as we entered we felt like we were on vacation, living the posh life. I mean it’s not everyday that you get to hang out at a swanky cool hotel, soaking in the sun under a trellis and planning the next visit poolside (#dreamlife). Well at the Outpost, yes… yes, you can.

3. Decor to die for (and drool over). Do I even need to explain this? The photos should say it all. Not only is the patio trellis and open bar beautiful, but the deep turquoise blue walls and eclectic decor indoors creates such a fun, laid-back environment.

4. Seriously exceptional service. Having been a waitress for years, I take my wait service seriously. It can make the biggest difference and impact on a visit — and let me tell you, every single staff member that we came across at the Outpost was so welcoming and helpful. From the hostess kindly greeting us, to our waitress’ perfect recommendations, to the super-talented Chef Derek {who even came out of the kitchen to explain some of his favorite dishes and passion for cooking} — all were top-notch. We had such a blast talking to everyone!

5. Fun flavorful food menu. We are all for trying out new dishes, and love to brag to each other about who ordered the best dish. Well, get ready because Outpost has a variety of creative new-age dishes that will beyond satisfy your taste buds and impress any typical “foodie” you’re with (I mean, a homemade pop tart, buckwheat pancakes, chilaquiles, hash, pork belly, empanadas, duck tacos … need I go on?).

6. Perfect place for all occasions and meals. Not only does Outpost offer a exquisite brunch experience, but they also offer lunch, dinner and our other favorite, Happy Hour – which they refer to as Good Hour. More like the Too Freakin’ Good to be True Hour. I mean, oysters, ceviche, shishito peppers – 5 for $5?!? $8 Beer and Shot pairings?!? Sign us up STAT.

7. {Best for last} Full bar with an insanely impressive cocktail selection. There’s a special brunch cocktail menu which includes bottomless mimosas, the most delicious and beautiful Bloody Mary you’ve ever seen, and a number of imaginative specialty drinks you’ve only tasted in your dreams – yup, they’re that good.  And yes, we tried a few – the Bellini, Knickerbocker, Bloody Mary and Oaxacan Bacer #boom

We had such a fantastic time, and had so many great conversations with everyone there. Seriously, we felt like we made new friends. We cannot wait to go back to Outpost for round 2, 3, 4…

You guys have to try it out. Make a day of it like we did, too! It’s the perfect getaway – Goleta is right in the center of the 805, just north of Santa Barbara and right by the beach. #wetoldyaso
