Although it doesn’t look like much from the outside, maybe that’s what has preserved this adorable spot, keeping it from being swarmed by the masses. At least, that’s the only reason I can think of.
Specialty merchandise is displayed on antiqued armoires, while mismatched tables dot the seating area. Grab a seat at the tall rustic wooden table for a little game of chess (or just fake it, because you know you’d just rather play checkers).
As you walk in to Tifa Gelato and Chocolate, after being proverbially smacked in the face by the smell of delicious chocolate, you are immediately greeted by a happy gelato server [who is actually eager to help you sample as many flavors as possible]. I always feel awkward asking to try a ton of different flavors, but seeing as how he practically begged me to try some of his favorites, I let a little loose and tried almost every single one. And they have a LOT.
– Dark chocolate (91% cocoa, people!)
– Strawberry Balsamic
– Fig & Mascarpone
– Whiskey Waffle Cone
– Lemon Cookie
Hey, what’s that triangle-y thing stuck in my gelato, you ask? Oh, just a delectably-delicious slightly-sweet lemon cookie. #omg
Looking for a warmer treat? Try a cup of drinking chocolate [think: hot chocolate on performance-enhancing drugs]. Pretty much just like drinking straight melted chocolate with the flavor of your choice: to name a few, lavender, chai spice, cayenne, mint, maple, rosemary, clove, and even pumpkin spice (cue every girl swooning)! It’s just what you need to get through those brutal winter days we have down here.
Need a specialty chocolate fix? They’ve got you covered.
Not like you need another guilty pleasure or anything… but hey, why not just add Tifa to the list?? 😉
