10 Books On My Nightstand {2017 Reading List}

This year, one of my goals was to finally get to reading all those books I purchased from Amazon last year.  Thanks to my toddler and baby it’s been a bit difficult (#momlife), but I’m trying to be intentional about scrolling less and reading more.  So far I’ve started two books this year and have actually been making some progress (yay me!!!).

Here are 10 books that I am looking forward to reading {and I’ll be happy if I read half of them haha}:

3 Reasons Why We Love Refugio Ranch… And You Will Too

Looking for your next adventure? So were we and boy, do we have you covered:)

On our recent “sister weekend” trip to Los Olivos, Santa Ynez and Solvang, we had the pleasure of visiting Refugio Ranch‘s vineyard and tasting room in Los Olivos. We didn’t know what to expect when driving down the dirt road, but we were quickly blown away by the beauty of the vineyard, the hospitality of Max (the son of Kevin Gleason the owner) and his beautiful wife Vanessa, and the delightful wines we tasted.

3 Reasons why we love Refugio Ranch:

the story the people the …

Let It Snow at Four Seasons Westlake Village! {local events}

I don’t know about you, but I’m just a little obsessed with Christmas.  It truly is the most wonderful time of the year and now that I have a family of my own with two little girls, I love it even more.  I especially love that the holiday season focuses on spending time with friends, family and loved ones.  I’m always on the look out for festive activities and events to take my daughters to celebrate the season and we’ve heard such great things about the Let It Snow event at the Four Seasons Westlake Village — so that was on the top of my list this …

enegren-girls

In case you didn’t know, this coming Saturday is Small Business Saturday- a day to celebrate and support the small businesses in our community.  Small businesses play a vital role in our 805 community and it is so important to go out and #shopsmall whenever possible, and this Saturday is the perfect day to do just that.

Here are a few of our favorite small businesses in the area and we would love for you to go out and support them or any of your own favorites.

Life With Two Under Two {local mom}

I’ve made it almost two months with two girls under the age of two {thanks to a lot of grace, an amazing husband, and a whole lot of coffee}.  And while I won’t be saying that that much longer since Reese turns two at the end of the month (cue the tears!), life is definitely not going to be getting easier anytime soon.  While it’s chaotic and messy and I’m in need of a shower (praise the Lord for dry shampoo), I wouldn’t change a thing. I feel so blessed to be the mama of two healthy, beautiful little girls.

We’ve been pretty lucky that …

Homemade Ventura {local shop}

We love to support small, local businesses, especially ones that make and sell things as adorable as Homemade Ventura.  Homemade Ventura was started by stay-at-home mom (of two toddlers no less!) Jessica Needham. She was born and raised in Ventura and was inspired by the laid back, small town vibe. She started creating macrame wall art using modern, but simple designs.  You can check out her beautiful macrame wall art on her etsy shop here.

Jessica will also be hosting a macrame holiday workshop at MadeWest Brewery in Ventura.  Join her on December 6th from 6-8pm and for just $60 a person you …

Soon to be family of 4 {Kipling Maternity Photos}

I cannot believe that in just a couple of weeks (2 weeks and 2 days to be exact) we will become a family of 4.  I’m excited and nervous at the same time. I can’t wait to get this baby out of me (this heat wave is literally killing me) and see what she looks like (will she have red hair too??), but I’m also not totally sure I’m ready for the whole newborn stage all over again.  I’m definitely not ready for the lack of sleep it entails, especially with a toddler in tow.

But whether I am ready or not, this baby is …

Five Friday Faves {This Week’s Edition}

It’s the weekend and although we were getting really excited for fall with the cooler weather we were having and the PSL’s we were drinking, we don’t mind the late reminder of summer.  It will be a beautiful weekend to head outdoors and enjoy some of our Five Friday Faves!

1. Beer festivals and Oktoberfest events aplenty are coming to the 805 (yay!!).  All weekend long you can check out the California Beer Festival at Plaza Park in Ventura. There are several different events taking place this weekend along with lots of craft beer tasting, live entertainment, and food.  But hurry, this is a …

Another Kipling Home Remodel {Part 2}

We are in the final home stretch of our remodel (read my Part 1 here) and as you can see someone is excited to be back in her crib.  Despite being so close to the end, this is the part that feels like it takes the longest.  It’s all the little things, touch ups, and finish work that can take a long time to complete.

We definitely have to give a big shout out to our contractor Avi from ARY Construction. When you are taking down walls, adding a bathroom, redoing electrical, etc. it is so helpful to have …
