Barre101 {The Good Kind of Burn}

{via}

I’m a self-proclaimed “barre-class aficionado,” and there seems to be a gravitational pull between me and the nearest barre studio (especially ones that offer a Conejo Deal 😉 )  Enter: Barre 101 in Agoura Hills.

Barre 101 is right off of Roadside Drive in the Whizin’s Center [next to Tifa Gelato, which offers a sweet post-workout treat, ‘cuz that’s how I do].  Walking in, I was immediately greeted by my friendly instructor Nicole [twinsies!], who asked me about any previous injuries and gave me a tour of the studio.  I felt instantly welcomed, and ready to WORK.

Each barre variety offers something new and challenging, and Barre 101 was no different.  It was refreshing to try workout moves that I hadn’t experienced in other barre classes, including use of a foam pad for inner thigh exercises like you’ve never felt before.  And, don’t even get me started on the “water ski” exercise. Whoa.

Plus, there are some sweet perks:

  • Forgot your socks?  They’ve got extras to use for free! [they’re clean, and they don’t make you pay an arm and a leg to purchase them at the studio]
  • Free hair ties!
  • Free lockers available to keep your goods secure during class
  • Hey mommies — FREE CHILDCARE is available for morning classes on Mondays and Fridays, at 9:30 & 10:30am.  Whaaaaat?!
  • Not sure if you’re into this kind of workout?  They offer a free week pass on their website!
