The Ultimate Grab & Go Superfood Snack

We love when a fellow 805 resident starts a new business or makes an incredible product — and Bonga Foods is no exception!

Cyan, a local 805-er, works for this beyond-awesome company located here in the 805, and today they are launching a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the Baobab Superfood Chews and Organic Baobab Superfood Powders (which are currently in Whole Foods and coming to Sprouts soon!).

With 10 times the antioxidants of blueberries, Bonga Foods’ chews and powders provide great alternatives for the superfoodie in each of us. And if they raise enough funds through support in the Kickstarter campaign, they will expand their line to include the Chia and Moringa superfoods as well!

Baobab is a wild harvested, raw, superfood bursting with antioxidants and naturally rich in fiber, vitamin C, minerals, alkaline, and electrolytes. Um, that’s a lot of scientific words, but just trust us — they’re all good for you.   Sounds pretty amazing, right?  Just wait, there’s more…

Not only does Bonga Foods offer a healthy superfood snack, but they are also part of a much greater purpose. Check out what Cyan has to say about Bonga Foods.

As a company sprouted from three moms focused on pure nutrition, we also strive to help other moms. Even those living on another continent. Through fair and ethical trade, Bonga-Baobab enables local harvesters to support themselves. And together, we all protect the mighty Baobab tree.

Bonga Foods is a new line of superfood products made with Baobab, a super fruit from the Sub Saharan region of Africa naturally rich in fiber, antioxidants, vitamin C, calcium, and magnesium. Our current product line includes delicious superfood chews in Raspberry, Strawberry, Mango and Pomegranate as well as organic Baobab powder that makes a delicious addition to your water bottle, smoothie, yogurt, baked goods.

Bonga Foods donates 10{fd7f0a6624fbd2224f3c60e3404acbd2207eb416c38268e7e97265ebe361b912} of all profits to Bonga Foundation, as well as 1{fd7f0a6624fbd2224f3c60e3404acbd2207eb416c38268e7e97265ebe361b912} for the planet.  Currently, our Bonga Foundation supports the Baobab harvesters and their families in the Limpopo Province of South Africa.  We support these harvesters, the majority which are women, by teaching them entrepreneurship through the Baobab trade, as well as supporting a Baobab tree guardianship program, renovating day care centers (crèches), and building playgrounds so the harvesters have a safe place for their kids to play while they work.  We aim to expand our philanthropic endeavors to the areas in which we are sourcing our Moringa (Northern India) and our Chia (Paraguay) in the next year.
