Building Our Very First Home {Part 4}

It’s time for another update on our home building process! Things are moving along 🙂 The first floor is up and we have stairs! Check it out…!

That is our laundry room and den/play room. We also added some crawl space to the right so we can store things like wine and Christmas presents (I like to think of the important things;).

In the photo below that, we’re looking from inside our living room toward the backyard. The kitchen will be over to the left and the sink will be right under the window looking out.building our very first home - LocalLove805building our very first home - LocalLove805

If you haven’t noticed yet, we wanted to really maximize our backyard views as the main focal point in our home – hence the big windows facing out back 🙂 My dad’s a builder and that was one of his first tips for designing our home- to make sure we magnified our views.

So most of our rooms have large windows facing the backyard. For instance, there’s a window looking out as you walk up our stairway and as soon as you enter our home through the front door, you’ll be able to look out our double sliding doors through the open living area.
Building our very first home - LocalLove805All homes can have a focal point to accent and maximize, whether you have views or not – a huge gorgeous entry way, impressive stairway, unique accent walls, brick fireplace, etc.

What’s your favorite accent and/or feature in your home?
