Building Our Very First Home {Part 5}

Our house is coming along! And I’ll be honest, I’m a bit behind on the posts so we’ve actually done a bit more than you’ll see below (like finished the framing with top story and roof!). Don’t worry, those photos will come soon:)

Here’a a look at the framing of our first floor-

This is the main living area. The entry leads straight to the living room which is open to the kitchen and dining area – as well as our beautiful view from the back yard (above)!

This is looking toward the entry way (straight ahead), fire place is to the left and dining room to the right.

Here’s a look from the backyard, and below is looking at the front from our street.

Well, that’s a wrap for part 5 of our building process. So, now onto the third floor with our master 🙂

    Congratulations from your soon-to-be neighbor on Renee Drive! It looks like you’ll be done by the end of this year.

    I had hoped construction on my single-story 1800 square-foot house would be underway, but as we both know, the City of Agoura Hills takes its time. We hopefully have received final approval from the Fire Department, and the City should be ready to move on to the next step, namely the notification of all residents within 750 feet of the property, the ordering and placement of the sign, and finally the scheduling of the 6:30PM Thursday meeting with the PC. I’ll let you know; you and Luke can attend if your wish.

    As to the start of construction, maybe December of this year, but realistically March or so of next year (expect El Nino weather). We still have to complete the detailed construction documents and perform the Plan Check.

    Regards, Evan

      Hi Evan! Thank you for your comment! Luke said he’s been talking to you about the process! Excited for you to be underway- it does take quite some time, but you will get there. Keep up updated and feel free to reach out at anytime! Looking forward to becoming neighbors!
