Are You a Camper or a Glamper? Or both? {local getaway}

We have the perfect getaway for you — so perfect, in fact, that I almost want to keep it secret. But we wouldn’t do that! Just keep it on the DL so all of LA doesn’t catch on to how awesome the 805 is 😉 JK!!! kinda…

Anyway, here’s the scoop –

You’ve heard us talk about our LOVE for Santa Barbara and camping a few times before, so here’s a little more.

Ocean Mesa Campground and El Capitan Canyon, both located north of Santa Barbara, offer something for everyone — the glamper and the camper! El …

A Classic Day-cation Escape {Santa Barbara}

Our family is heading up to Santa Barbara this weekend for brunch at the Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore and I could not be more excited to enjoy the amazing view and eat some (ok a lot!) delicious food! Read below for Hayley’s recent post about her day-cation escape in SB.

Always the one to snag a great deal {especially in support of the 805!}, Luke and I bought the Travelzoo deal for Unlimited Breakfast for Two at Bella Vista at Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara  — and let me tell you, it was so worth …

Your Next Local Getaway : Ventura Harbor Village

Luke and I decided to head to Ventura Harbor Village for a quick brunch getaway this weekend. We wanted to try something new and explore without the long drive, so Ventura was the perfect option.Ventura Harbor Village - LocalLove805Ventura Harbor Village - LocalLove805We pulled up around 10am on a Sunday and were pleased to find tons and tons of open parking spots. I think anyone who’s grown up near LA understands and appreciates free & convenient parking just like I do. No one likes to circle around in search …

Why We Love Carpinteria {And Why You Should Too}

Here at LocalLove805 we love cute beach towns, we love camping, and therefore we love Carpinteria.  This adorable beach town is less than an hour away from where we all live and one of our go-to spots for the summer. Ocean, sand, surf, cute town, quaint shops, fun restaurants… I mean, what more could you want??  And if camping isn’t your thing, you can also look into renting an adorable beach cottage or stay in a hotel! See there’s something for everyone!

Carpinteria is a very special place to my husband and I, because a little more than 6 years ago (?!?!) we got married …

Valentine’s Weekend Photo Roundup {local lifestyle}

How was everyone’s Valentine’s/President’s Day Weekend?! Hope you all enjoyed the beautiful weather. We sure had a great time. Here’s a look at my weekend through pictures (courtesy of my iPhone:).

Kicked off the weekend with a DIY Valentine’s Day breakfast at home (roses, complements of my husband:)

Got some “work”, a.k.a. home planning, done while picnicking in the park before our appointment at Home Depot later that day. The weather this weekend made any “work” seem so much more enjoyable 🙂

El Capitan Canyon & Market {local glamping}

We mentioned El Capitan Canyon in our Favorite Local 805 Campgrounds post and wanted to share a bit more about why we love it. El Capitan Canyon caters to luxury campers in the Santa Barbara area and offers two choices of glamping experiences with their Cedar Cabin or Safari Tents. If you’re more like us — you’re on a stricter budget and enjoy “roughing” it — then you can still enjoy many of the El Capitan Canyon amenities without staying overnight here. {or you can plan your next trip here for a special occasion such as a birthday or anniversary!}

Typically we camp at Refugio Beach and/or El …
