Meet Dolly of Lilly James Co., the first of our first featured vendors in the LocalLove805 Marketplace!
Dolly hails from Paso Robles (one of our favorite 805 getaways) and sews handmade products — specifically leather clutches, bags, keychains and baby goods. And they are A-DORE-ABLE.
Read on to find out how she turned her hobby into a passionate business, Lilly James Co. [warning: get ready to feel her warmth and be inspired]!

As avid DIY-ers, we have been loooving the new emergence of local artisans offering workshops on how to get crafty + creative in their own specialty.
One such artisan, Heather Brown from Brown & Co. Designs, has been offering brush lettering workshops that seem to sell out within hours of announcing a new one!
Lucky for us, we snagged two seats at her latest one, held at MadeWest Brewery in Ventura. Even on a Tuesday night, this workshop was completely …

Fall means all things PUMPKIN (and of course a few other things from our fall bucket list, am i right??). Sure, it’s cheaper to grab one from outside your favorite grocery store, but going to a pumpkin patch brings around a whole new level of nostalgia. Here are some of our favorites that are going on in the 805!
I’m sure you’ve seen those gorgeous macrame wall hangings on all of your fave ‘grammer accounts — and then you go to buy one, and you’re like, “hi, NOPE.”
Thank goodness for Jessica Needham, entrepreneur and girl boss of homeMADE Ventura! She is totally rocking this DIY craft that we now love, and taking the 805 by storm with her own macrame workshops! She invited us to stop by and give it a try this month… and now, we’re hooked. Our workshop was in the beautiful barn at Camarillo Ranch, and provided the prime environment for a beautiful summer Sunday.

Living in Southern California, you get a LOT of visitors. And living in Southern California, there’s a LOT to see and do. When you have visitors in town, it can be difficult to narrow it all down to just a few “must see” spots. We recently had Luke’s mom and sister in town from Wisconsin, and of course, high on their list of to-do’s was beach, wine tasting and shop.
So difficult to do in the 805, right?! HAHA not at all 🙂
Here’s a look at a few of our fave “go-to/must-see” local spots for out-of-towner guests:
