Okay, sorry about that ridiculous title — I do love some alliteration…! 😉
Fall means all things PUMPKIN (and of course a few other things from our fall bucket list, am i right??). Sure, it’s cheaper to grab one from outside your favorite grocery store, but going to a pumpkin patch brings around a whole new level of nostalgia. Here are some of our favorites that are going on in the 805!
Having married a man whom was born and raised in Lake Tahoe, it goes without saying that I have made many road trips from LA to Stateline, NV.
Growing up, I was not a fan of long car rides. I was the kid that kept asking, “How many more minutes until we get there?” and groaning at whatever answer I received. Of course, I wasn’t completely …
I’m sure you’ve seen those gorgeous macrame wall hangings on all of your fave ‘grammer accounts — and then you go to buy one, and you’re like, “hi, NOPE.”
Thank goodness for Jessica Needham, entrepreneur and girl boss of homeMADE Ventura! She is totally rocking this DIY craft that we now love, and taking the 805 by storm with her own macrame workshops! She invited us to stop by and give it a try this month… and now, we’re hooked. Our workshop was in the beautiful barn at Camarillo Ranch, and provided the prime environment for a beautiful summer Sunday.

My husband and I have a serious case of the travel bug.
Everyone always told us, “Get your traveling done now, because it’s over once you have a baby!” Well, if there’s one thing that annoys me, it’s when people tell me how my life has to be. So… we traveled anyways.
Before our little one was 9 months old, he had already been …
Living in Southern California, you get a LOT of visitors. And living in Southern California, there’s a LOT to see and do. When you have visitors in town, it can be difficult to narrow it all down to just a few “must see” spots. We recently had Luke’s mom and sister in town from Wisconsin, and of course, high on their list of to-do’s was beach, wine tasting and shop.
So difficult to do in the 805, right?! HAHA not at all 🙂
Here’s a look at a few of our fave “go-to/must-see” local spots for out-of-towner guests:
First on the to-do list, beach.
Summer means extra daylight, warm evenings, rosé ALL day, and some of our favorite things… so, here we go!
1. Tequila + Taco Music Festival [Ventura] :: These are a few of my faaaavorite things… $10 admission [kids 12 and under are free!] gets you in on the fun! There will be tequila tastings [Saturday], margarita madness [Sunday], tacos galore, and plenty of live music. Proceeds benefit Food Share, Ventura County’s food bank.
2. Dallas Cowboys Training Camp [Oxnard] :: Yes, the …

What did you do with all of that extra sunlight on Tuesday? This is white-wine-drinking, porch-sitting, live music weather — and we are soaking in every minute of it!
Here are five ways to take advantage of these balmy summer evenings…
1. Outdoor Concerts :: because it gives you a great excuse to drink wine out of a travel coffee mug and have it be socially appropriate (or is that not socially appropriate…?)
Janss Marketplace Summer Concert Series [Thousand Oaks]: Check it out each Wednesday night from 6-8pm — this week kicks off the series with Ticket to Ride, a Beatles tribute band! Don’t forget …
Hope you all had a relaxing and refreshing Father’s Day weekend 🙂 It was Brett’s first Father’s Day as a new “dada” (as Graham calls him… ok he calls me that too sometimes, haha!), so I decided to take our little family north to Ventura for the day!

We loaded up our bikes and lathered on the sunscreen because hellooo did you see how beautiful it was yesterday?! There’s a free parking lot at the far end of Main Street, …
