Best of: Coffee + Wine Bars {and yes, they do exist}

I don’t know about you, but this whole “half coffee bar, half wine bar” thing that people are catching on to is nothing but pure. GENIUS.

Two of my favorite vices, married into a one-stop shop?  #heaven

Ready for the breakdown of our favorite places?  Pick your poison:

  • BeanScene Espresso and Wine Bar [610 N. Lindero Canyon Rd., Oak Park]

IMG_7406Pretty much the cutest darn coffeehouse you’ve ever seen, now with BeanScene After Dark – Coffeehouse-turns-wine bar, with a large assortment of wines by the glass or bottle.  Keep an eye out in the Clipper Magazine and on Conejo Deals, LivingSocial, etc. for some sweet deals!IMG_7402

Why we love it: lots of outside seating (and very dog friendly!); absurdly-cute decor; breakfast (and mimosas!) sourced from local bakeries.  Don’t forget to try their signature drink, the BeanScene Blast!

BONUS: special food truck events each month, wine tasting events, and great happy hour deals!

  • BeanoVino [360 Via Las Brisas #160, Newbury Park]

beanovino-outsideWhat was once Boney Mountain Coffee, is now the new and improved BeanoVino!  This place is about to get their wine and beer license (and therefore, about to get super popular), so you should probably hurry in — just so you can say you knew them before they were cool. #bandwagon  {check out our blog post on BeanoVino here}beanovino-doubleWhy we love it: Intelligentsia Coffee next to an adorable fireplace and outdoor patio and waterfall. Love!

BONUS: They sell S’Mores Kits for roasting for their outdoor firepit in the early evenings. Mmmm!

  • The Stonehaus [32039 Agoura Rd, Westlake Village]

One of our favorite places to sit outside, sip on our beverage of choice, and relax.  Can’t decide if you want coffee or an adult libation?  Have both.  They make a coffee/Bailey’s/Kahlua drink that is obscenely delicious.Happy Hour at StonehausWhy we love it: huge variety of options from full meals to cheese plates, gelato to pastries, and of course, wine, coffee, and everything in between.  Plus, they are dog-friendly!

BONUS: Bocce Ball courts, views of vineyards, tabletop fire pits, and an outdoor pizza oven – why leave?

  • Boar Dough Tasting Room [5015 Cornell Road, Agoura Hills]

I am a total sucker for a good play-on-words, and this one is really working for me [if you don’t get it, ask a friend].   Relatively new on the scene, Boar Dough offers handcrafted flatbreads, Intelligentsia coffee, and a wide selection of vino, as well as house-made sodas! Plus, {pretty much} any decorations you see in the place, you can purchase!

Why we love it: This place is singing our song: they are all. about. LOCAL. Local produce, local ingredients, local wine… you get the picture.

BONUS: During the week, they also offer wine, beer, and soda classes, specialty cooking classes, and pop-up kitchen takeovers featuring local chefs.

  • Starbucks  {yes, I said Starbucks} [26531 Agoura Road, Calabasas]

One of only a few select locations in the USA, Starbucks in the Creekside Village Shopping Center serves wine and beer after 4 p.m.!  Called “Starbucks Evenings,” patrons can choose to wind down with an adult beverage of their choice, and can also choose from a menu of small plates — flatbread pizzas, cheese plates, & truffle mac and cheese, to name a few.Fotor041593623Why we love it: The convenience and comfort of Starbucks, without having to tip a waitress.

BONUS:  Chocolate fondue is a dessert option!  Also, Starbucks Evenings menu items still count toward My Starbucks Rewards™.

Did we miss any of your favorites?  Please let us know! As always, feel free to #spreadthelove.
