Five Friday Faves :: This Week’s Edition

And just like ::that:: it’s pretty much AUGUST.  haaaWHAT?!  So much summer fun to squeeze into this last month — so, get to it!

1. The Closet {Westlake Promenade}

Last night we attended the grand opening of Nina and Sharon Segal’s newest branch of The Closet, a cray-cray adorrrrbs boutique that just opened in The Westlake Promenade.

Then, we decided that we needed to throw away everything in our closet and let them takeover our wardrobe. {kidding, kinda} 😉

2. Special Olympics World Games 2015 {Los Angeles}

When it comes to a worldwide event, LA is about as local as it gets!  The hus and I have gotten to watch volleyball, rhythmic gymnastics, soccer, and Judo — lucky for us, a ton of events are at UCLA, so we get to stop by on lunch breaks and after work to cheer on the athletes.

Good news — you’ve still got time to see some events before closing ceremonies on August 2nd!  Check out the full schedule here.  And for more information on why this is such a BFD, read the blog post!

3.  Outdoor Movie + Wine {YES please}

I know, pretty much the best combination everrr — am I right?? Malibu Wines hosts movie nights on Thursday evenings during the summer, and we can’t wait to go to the showing of Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory on August 6!

Bring your dinner, or purchase some pizza from Porcelli Pizza Co. [just buy a bottle of wine, and admission is free!].  Find the full line-up and more events happening at Malibu Wines this month!

4. Gardens of the World Jazz Concert Series

We all know that GOTW is gorgeous, but a little live music makes it a treat for the ears and the eyes.

{concert is Sunday, August 2 from 5-6:30pm}

And if you need a little something to go with that outdoor concert grab a delicious summer picnic basket from The Grill on the Alley in Westlake Village! Find out all the details on the super easy and perfect outdoor event addition on our blog post here.

5. It’s All Greek to Me

Santa Barbara is hosting the 42nd Annual Greek Festival this weekend — Opa!! There will be food, music, entertainment, dance lessons, and hopefully a whole bunch of men that look like John Stamos … ummm did I say that out loud?

This sounds like a Big, Fat, Greek Weekend of Fun!

Hope you have a fabulous weekend and don’t forget to tag us on instagram, facebook and twitter @LocalLove805 #LL805 #spreadthelove!
