Our Go-To Healthy & Tasty Snack {local eats}

Put a little kick in your nuts.

We are totally loving this tagline from one of our favorite local entrepreneurs, Giddy Up Nuts — but, even more, we love this healthy, yet tasty snack!

We first met Kristy Mangia [her last name means “eat” in Italian — what a coincidence?!], owner and creator of Giddy Up Nuts, at the Blue Table Grand Opening party a couple years back.  Her almond snacks were absolutely delicious and we love that Kristy uses fresh, organic ingredients to create unique flavors! Plus, Giddy Up Nuts are featured in local shops around the 805!

Needless to say, we were pretty stoked when we received these in the mail:IMG_2007Rosemary Garlic AND Coffee Chocolate?!  It’s like she read our minds.

IMG_2017The Rosemary Garlic flavor was perfect — not too overpowering, so you can definitely enjoy a handful, but flavorful enough to keep us reaching back in the bag for more.

IMG_2028The Coffee Chocolate [a.k.a. my kryptonite] was a wonderful balance between these two complementary flavors — just enough salty-sweet for a satisfying treat!

Other flavors include:

Rosemary Sea Salt

Luscious Lemon

Pumpkin (seasonal)

We let the husbands try a few, just to make sure we weren’t the only ones who thought these were amazing.  When we asked what they thought, they just held out their hands and claimed they “needed to try more” to give an expert opinion.  hmmmm…. sneaky. We had to take the bags away because they couldn’t stop eating them!

And, we got a little bit of inside information from Kristy — she will soon be releasing an almond butter product! Can’t wait to try it!

IMG_2020You can find, sample, and purchase Giddy Up Nuts in many flavors every Sunday at the Agoura Hills Farmers Market [5835 Kanan Road, 9am-2pm]!  Also available for purchase on the Giddy Up Nuts website or at some fine local retailers, such as Los Olivos General Store, Blue Table Wine Bar, Cornell Winery & Tasting Room and SunLife Organics!
