Goblin Gallop 5K & 10K {Work It Wednesday}

What sounds better than getting a fun workout in, supporting a good cause, wearing your Halloween costume, and attending a big city celebration?  We think nothing — which is why this Work It Wednesday is all about the Triunfo YMCA Goblin Gallop taking place this Saturday in Westlake Village.

The Goblin Gallop is definitely going to be fun and entertaining, as well as a great workout! You can sign up for either the 5K or the 10K Run, as well as the 1 mile Trick or Treat Fun Run for kids (I mean, the running part cancels out the candy part, right?).  This Halloween-themed twilight run features a costume contest and an out-and-back course.  Prizes will be awarded to the best costume seen on the course… so get your thinking caps on and come up with something creative!

The Westlake Village City Celebration will take place the afternoon/evening before the race. This event features live music, food trucks, canned food drive, beer and wine, and a magic show!

Online registration for the Goblin Gallop is currently closed, but you can still register for either race in person. For more details check out the website event page here.

Our families have done the Thousand Oaks YMCA Turkey Dash 5K the past few years for Thanksgiving and we all love it! It has become a fun and healthy tradition, and who knows, maybe the Goblin Gallop can become that for you and your family!

Not that you should need any more motivation to sign up for this run {hello, beer and wine following the run??}, but just in case you do, check out Hayley’s post on work out motivation and how to have a fun and successful run.

So get going and register, pick out a spectacular costume, and have some fun all while burning some calories and having a great workout! Don’t forget to tag us in your Instagram pics @locallove805 and #LL805! We would love to see you guys out running and see what costumes you picked!
