The Only Time You’ll *Really* Crave a Salad {Greens Up!}

True story: when I first heard that Greens Up! was coming to my area, I screamed… at. work. (not my finest moment)

When Brett + I lived in Santa Monica, our apartment was spitting distance from this place on Montana Ave — and we took advantage of its close proximity weekly.  This fast-casual joint that serves salad only is anything but boring.

The Jarvis salad {romaine, roasted turkey, croutons, tomato, smoked bacon, Swiss cheese, bleu cheese, and a roasted garlic dressing} is our absolute fave, and is large enough for my husband and I to share for a meal – seriously. And BONUS: their salads don’t taste like rabbit food!

After a long day of running errands, we were in the mood for something fresh and delicious.  This time around, we ventured out of our comfort zone and ordered The Sawtelle {spring mix, romaine, roasted turkey, dates, corn, goat cheese, sliced almonds, croutons, and tangy apple vinaigrette dressing}.  It was absolutely delicious, which makes me start to wonder which of the other salads I’ve been missing out on!

Greens Up! salads are a full meal — they are hearty, healthy, and are ready in a matter of minutes.  We also love that they source local ingredients and local growers, decreasing their carbon footprint and being a truly ‘green’ place of business.

The Create-Your-Own salad option is also a great deal, with a ton of toppings available.  All of their dressings are made from scratch, and are available for purchase so you can enjoy them at home, too!

Another fave: their homemade Greenhouse Cooler or Strawberry Mint Lemonade are so refreshing, and are all-natural, too!

We also love that they support local independent artists by playing their music in-store.  How much more local can you get, people??

We love their new location at The Shoppes at Westlake Village, especially sitting outside next to the fountain on these beautifully mild Spring days!

What is your favorite Greens Up! salad?  Do you customize?  What’s your ultimate combo?
