Oh My Gourd, So Many Halloween Events!

It’s officially FALL!  Not that we’re jumping on holidays too early, but… that means Halloween is right around the corner, and there are already a ton of events to help you get into the spirit!  Whether you’re looking for events geared toward family, fitness, or fun, there’s something for everyone!

Family: If you can’t dress your kids up in weird outfits and send them on a quest to bring you back all. the. candy… then why even have kids? 😉

October 6:

  • HarvestFest: pumpkin patch, petting zoo, balloons, face painting, and more! [12-3pm, Shoppes at Westlake Village]

October 14:

October 20:

  • Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Contest 12-1pm [Ventura Harbor Village]
  • Calabasas Pumpkin Festival: live bands, contests, reptile and wildlife shows, inflatable rides, and pumpkin EVERYTHING.  10am-5pm [Juan Bautista de Anza Park] $5/person advace, $10/person at the gate

October 21:

  • Calabasas Pumpkin Festival: live bands, contests, reptile and wildlife shows, inflatable rides, and pumpkin EVERYTHING.  10am-5pm [Juan Bautista de Anza Park] $5/person advace, $10/person at the gate

October 26:

  • Spooky Swim: pumpkin painting, goody bags, and games [5:30-8:30pm, Pleasant Valley Aquatic Center, Camarillo) $10

October 29:

  • Conejo Valley Youth Orchestra Children’s Concert [Civic Arts Plaza, Thousand Oaks; concerts at 12 and 3pm, activities 1-3pm] Costume parade, trick-or-treat the orchestra, instrument petting zoo, and crafts! Email with your name, # of tickets, and preferred show time.  This event fills up fast, and it’s free!

October 27: 

  • Kids Seaside Trick or Treat event 1-3pm [Ventura Harbor Village]
  • Haunt In The Park: costume contest, games, bounce houses, and more! 4-7pm [Plaza Park, Oxnard]
  • Trick or Treat Old Town Camarillo [1-4pm]
  • Trick or Treat Street: trick-or-treating, costume contest, and live reptile show; 6-8:30pm [Thousand Oaks Community Center]

October 31:

  • 57th Annual Youth Halloween Carnival, 12 years and under [5:30-8PM at The Center, 5005-C Los Angeles Avenue, Simi Valley; for tickets]
  • Thousand Oaks Library Halloween Festival [4-6pm] for ages 3-6; Crafts 4:00–6:00pm • Stories 4:30 & 5:30pm • Parade 5:00pm

Fitness: Are you more about fitness, or fit’ness much candy into your mouth as possible?

October 14:

  • Jeepers Creepers Run 5K and 10K: all racers receive free tacos and beer! [8am, Foster Park, Ventura]

October 27:

  • Haunted Housing Run/Walk 1 Mile, 5K, 10K: Benefiting Cocina Sin Fronteras and the Housing Authority of the City of San Buenaventura (HACSB) Scholarship Program, which awards scholarships to residents of affordable housing communities whom are enrolled in college or vocational school! [San Buenaventura Beach, 7:30am]
  • October Classic 5K + 10K: running, walking, wheelchair races, and even Paws for a Cause canine walk! [Ojai Valley Community Hospital]

Fun: We’re just here for the boos.

October 27:

  • Thrill The World Zombie Dance — a flash mob at Ventura Harbor Village! Participate or watch 🙂 3-4pm
  • Scare-amount Ranch [Paramount Ranch, Agoura Hills; 6-9:30pm] visit this movie set that has been host to hundreds of paranormal shows and films, such as Van Helsing, the X-Files, and Westworld! Family friendly events, spooky hiking trails, selfies in the jailhouse, a spider zoo, and more
