Too Fresh to Forget :: A Farm-to-Table Experience with Ocean Views

I recently went to Malibu Farm again {thanks to this gorgeous summer-like weather we are having right now!} and fell in love again– and so did Reese!  I mean the food, the ocean views, the adorable decor, and now they have expanded and added a full restaurant and bar as well as as Espresso Bar at the beginning of the pier.

So basically if you haven’t you been to Malibu Farm yet, now is the time to go! It’s the perfect spot for any meal and all occasions. Located on the Malibu Pier with gorgeous 360 degree views, a laid-back environment and surfer-rustic-chic decor- it makes for the perfect setting.  We also took Reese down to the beach afterwards, which makes for a great beach date.

Hayley went to Malibu Farm last summer with family and of course she fell in love too (I mean how can you not?).  Read on for more of her brunch date with our niece and nephew {adorable pictures included!}

Malibu Farm has an amazing and inspiring story. It was started a few years ago as — get this — a food blog with cooking classes, and now has turned into a full-fledged restaurant serving fresh, organic and local ingredients in one of the most iconic destinations in the country. I’d say that’s pretty freakin’ awesome (excuse my language).

Fortunately I had the chance to meet the owner, Helene, when I was there on Sunday — but then again, you can most likely find her there working every day of the week, which is a testament to how passionate she is for her business.

Now to the juicy stuff [pun intended]… I ordered the carrot-beet-orange juice which was de-licious. And in addition to the organic fresh squeezed juices, they also offer coffee, tea, wine, mimosas and beer — many of which are locally produced.

Next we got the fried egg sandwich with bacon served on country wheat toast with a side of arugula and baby potatoes. Yup and it was as good as it sounds!  By the way, another cool fact- all produce is provided by Larry Thorne Family Farm, Maggies Farm, 1 Gun Ranch and Malibu Farm.

And last but not least, we ordered the mini Swedish pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream for little miss Jewell.  How adorable is this dish!? Almost as cute as my niece and nephew. The pancakes were delicious too — I snuck a few 😉

We ate our breakfast on the rooftop where you can find long wooden picnic tables and umbrellas.  They also offer seating facing the ocean – I mean, how beautiful is that?!

And there’s even more seating along the side of the restaurant, inside and in front of the restaurant near the shop (another reason why we love Malibu Farm- plenty of seating for everyone!).

These are the days I really feel the need to soak in this beautiful summer weather and enjoy the perks of living in the 805. I mean, we can’t forget that the beach is our backyard! And I’ll be the first to admit- it’s easy to forget how fortunate we are to live in such a beautiful place and with so many amenities at our finger tips. But that’s why we like to say simply, get outside to eat, shop, play, and explore 🙂
