Ocean Views + BYOBooze {Malibu Seafood}

::: originally published August 28, 2015 :::

Okay, so, it was one of those Fridays when you just need a serious end-of-week decompression, so Brett and I set out for some ocean views and seafood.  As I was sitting in Friday PCH traffic ::blegh:: I started searching for a new spot with coastal views and a reasonable price range (sorry not sorry, Nobu).

Suddenly, I remembered Malibu Seafood — don’t ask me how, but I think it was a Divine intervention. I saw that it was BYOB (score!) so I pulled off at the Malibu Canyon Ralph’s, grabbed a sixer of Blue Moon Summer Honey Wheat, and headed up the coast.

Located right between where Kanan and Malibu Canyon meet the PCH, this gem is located on a stretch of unspoiled coastline that makes you feel like you’re on an island somewhere.  This is a walk-up-and-order kind of place, so I scoped out a picnic table while Brett waited in line.

We heard that the fish and chips were voted best in LA, so of course we had to try them. NEWSFLASH: it’s true.

I’m a big fan of clam chowder, so of course we ordered that — and the amazingly fresh shrimp cocktail because, well, why the heck not?

[this is Brett’s “hurry and take the picture because I’m hungry” face 😉 ]

ms4Are you like me, and you look at the menu hours before you go out to eat because you’re too excited?  Well, here you go:

And, for those of you who like to cook at home, they have a fresh fish market where you can take home their catch of the day.

Bottom Line: this is the perfect no-frills coastal seafood joint that will give you killer sunsets, a happy tummy, and all the best kinds of summer evening feels.

What’s your favorite thing to order at Malibu Seafood? #seayouthere #seawhatIdidthere? #catchyoulater #okayI’llstopnow
