Who’s getting excited for Cinco De Mayo?!  I think I can speak for the entire LL805 team that we. love. Mexican food.  Any excuse to have chips and salsa, rice and beans, and maybe a margarita or three… we’re IN.  We will be compiling a list of some great places to fiesta this May 5th, but in the meantime I took the liberty of listing a few of our favorites.  Also, what a happy coincidence that Cinco De Mayo falls on Margarita Monday this year!  Have a Cinco de Mayo festivity that we can’t miss?? Let us know!

Lalo’s (a true hidden gem in Moorpark — great authentic Mexican food and full bar)

Sabor  (if you’re looking for a classier spot. This one’s located in The Lakes — their margs are huge and delicious! We love the Vanilla Hibiscus organic marg, it’s our fave!)

Casa Escobar (another classy mexican spot. We actually went here for Cinco de Mayo a couple years back and sat on the patio —  they had buckets of beer and free shots going around, it was a fun atmosphere!)

Cisco’s (a pretty obvious one 🙂 If you want something more low-key, we suggest the TO location. But if you’re looking to really party, go to the Westlake location.)

Okay, maybe we’re a little embarrassed to admit it… but we are officially ‘those people’ that spotted an outfit on Instagram and immediately went out and purchased it.  Riverland Boutique in the Janss Marketplace (@shopriverland) posted this adorable outfit last week:

Suddenly, I get a frantic text from Hayley that says, “Can you PLEASE go buy me that shirt?? I’ll buy it for you too!” Not one to turn down free clothes, I obviously went and picked up two of those bad boys – for only $11.99 each! What a steal!  We plan on wearing them this weekend (yes, at the same time – absolutely NO shame) when we head up the coast a bit to visit beautiful…

…SANTA BARBARA!  We are heading to spend a weekend in a house with some friends to celebrate my brother-in-law’s 30th birthday! We love to play in and explore around SB, especially when the weather is this gorgeous.  We will be taking lots of pictures and reporting back to you about some new local gems that are within a 45 minute drive from the Conejo Valley 🙂  Any secret spots that we shouldn’t miss??

Oh, and can’t forget DISNEYLAND!  Hayley & Tanisha went to Disneyland on Monday with the entire family for their niece, Jewell’s, 2nd birthday! It was Jewell’s first time ever to D-land , same for her little brother Leo:) Jewell & Leo did quite well and even got to meet Mickey (the line to meet Anna and Elsa from Frozen was over two hours… shhh Jewell doesn’t have to know 😉 . The fam made a little vacay out of the whole thing and decided to drive up the day before and stay at the Disneyland hotel for two nights. Although it’s more expensive than the other hotels around, it gets you access into the park an hour early (sooooo worth it) and you can walk right onto Downtown Disney and both parks. So that was pretty convenient, especially when you have young ones with you. We will have to write a post soon on tips for planning a Disneyland trip on a budget as well as some favorite gems in the park (mostly food 😉

Disneyland!

While you’re in SB, go to Cielito or Palace Grill for food. They are my fave. If you need something cheaper and fast, then Persona Pizzeria on State is an awesome take on pizza where you go down the line and pick your toppings and Miso Hungry on Upper State does sushi bowls that are delicious.. again go down the line and pick all your ingredients.
