Life With Two Under Two {local mom}

I’ve made it almost two months with two girls under the age of two {thanks to a lot of grace, an amazing husband, and a whole lot of coffee}.  And while I won’t be saying that that much longer since Reese turns two at the end of the month (cue the tears!), life is definitely not going to be getting easier anytime soon.  While it’s chaotic and messy and I’m in need of a shower (praise the Lord for dry shampoo), I wouldn’t change a thing. I feel so blessed to be the mama of two healthy, beautiful little girls.

We’ve been pretty lucky that Reese is either not interested in her little sister, or wants to smother Norah with kisses and shove her pacifier in her mouth.  I am thankful that at least she’s not hitting her, although sometimes her “pats” can get a little aggressive.

local mom of twoNorah has pretty much been a dream compared to Reese.  Looking back, I now realize what a hard time I had breastfeeding Reese.  She was so little and not that great of an eater or sleeper.  I was feeding her almost every hour and a half to two hours at night so I was majorly sleep deprived those first few months. Norah on the other hand has been a fabulous eater and therefore a pretty good sleeper.

While being a mom is busy and hard (oh man is it ever hard!), it’s also so very rewarding.  There’s nothing like snuggling your little girl and her telling you she loves you or seeing your newborn smile for the first time.  It’s definitely more challenging, more tiring, and a lot messier, but it’s also a lot happier.  There are times when I feel like I just can’t handle Reese whining for one more second and I really just want to go to Target alone, but it’s ok. It will pass.  And far too quickly I’ve learned.  I know I’ll look back and miss these days so I’m embracing it all and finding the joy in every day.
