A New York Holiday {Exploring the Big City}

I just got back from New York a couple weeks ago and was asked about some of my favorite things to do, see, eat in the big city. I was there on business, but was fortunate enough to have my mom and sister join me to stay through the weekend! Here are some highlights from my holiday visits to New York!

First, walking around the various neighborhoods like Soho, Chelsea, Greenwich (my favorite:)…new york holiday vacation - locallove805 - Greenwichnew york holiday vacation - locallove805 - sohonew york holiday vacation - locallove805new york holiday vacation - locallove805new york holiday vacation - locallove805 Now onto brunch 🙂 Brunch in NY is a MUST. Make sure to make resos ahead of time or get there early to put your name in, then grab some coffee down the street!new york holiday vacation - locallove805 - Two Hands - New York brunchnew york holiday vacation - locallove805 - Two Hands - New York brunchnew york holiday vacation - locallove805 - Egg Shop - New York brunchJack's Wife Frida - new york holiday vacation - locallove805 - New York brunchNext, shopping! SO much shopping in New York! SoHo is great and you must stop by the infamous Macy’s to see the iconic wooden escalators. Hello, Miracle on 34th street 🙂new york holiday vacation - locallove805 - Macy's on 34th street - shoppingnew york holiday vacation - locallove805 - Macy's on 34th street - shoppingBut first, coffee #duh 😉 New York is FULL of amazing coffee shops (and amazing everything really). There’s way too many to list, but I love La Colombe which is right by my office. but first, coffee - new york holiday vacation - locallove805 - coffee shopscoffee - new york holiday vacation - locallove805 - Jack's Wife FridaOf course, you should so some sight-seeing while in the city. I definitely recommend getting a drink at the Top of the Rock where you can get a beautiful view of the New York skyscrapers (drinks are a bit pricey, but the views are worth it!). Of course Lady Liberty is a sight to see, Ellis Island, the Rockefeller Center, Radio City, One Tower and more. As probably expected, take a day to visit Tower One and the museum as it requires a lot of time and emotionally draining – but definitely something everyone should experience.
