Your Go-To Girls Night {Pinot’s Palette}

It’s what I like to affectionately call the “karaoke of the art world,” and it’s quickly taking the country by storm.  It involves canvas and Cabernet, paintbrushes and Pilsner, and it’s coming to a “Girls Night Out” near you.

Intrigued?  KNEW IT.

Last week, we had the good fortune of attending the Media Soft Opening night for Pinot’s Palette, an art-class-meets-bar experience that totally wowed us.  Michelle and Amanda Green, who are adorable sisters and the owners of Pinot’s Palette, started this business venture back in January 2014, when they purchased the storefront in the soon-to-be-renovated Westlake Plaza {conveniently located next to Joi Cafe!}.  About a year and a half later — with trainings in Texas, applying for their beer + wine license, and getting the place party-ready — they are now open for business!

Upon entering, we were escorted to our canvases [which had our names written in chalk on the table below] and were encouraged to go visit the bar for a pre-class beverage.

Although Pinot’s Palette is a nationally-franchised business, I was thrilled to see that the owners chose to feature local wines and beers in their offerings — nice work, ladies!  We kicked the night off with an 805 beer, and halfway through the evening [when we really needed that liquid courage!] we grabbed a glass of Cielo wine.

[p.s., how great is that motto?!]

All of the supplies were provided and right at your station, so there was no need to get out of your seat — unless you needed a refill, of course.

They made sure to keep things simple, and our instructor was funny and entertaining! Everything was laid out step by step, and helpful tips were given along the way.  There were even other artists on hand to offer advice in those panicky moments when we thought we screwed up our whole painting 😉

[yes, I’m still stressed out about the intersection of my wine bottle and wine glass…!]

We especially loved chair-dancing with a paintbrush microphone while they played today’s top songs 😉 The environment provided ample time for mingling, with a laid-back, casual vibe.

I mean, it was SO low on the peer pressure scale — some people were really just doing their own thing. Like, THEIR. OWN. THING.

I will tell you, the wine helps release your creative roadblocks — or at least makes you not care if you make a teeny mistake.

There was also a pink dog there, so that was cool.

Classes are $35 for a 2-hour painting, and $45 for a 3-hour painting.  This is a great option for corporate events, team building, bridal showers, date night, or even a kid’s birthday party.  A private room for up to 15 guests, or the main room for up to 52 guests, are available for private parties, too!

Check out the class schedule here for a list of upcoming classes and their paintings, or check out this HUGE list for all of the artwork options!  Which work of beauty will be gracing your wall next?

And, like I always say… “Fake it ’til you make it.” #spreadthelove #sorryaboutmypurpleteeth
