Not to sound too basic, but…

we LOVE brunch.

Like, borderline obsessed. And what’s not to love? Delicious, insta-worthy food. Acceptable day drinking, in public. Catching up with good friends. Beautiful, outdoor patios [our favorite, and — thanks to the 805 — it’s almost always patio-sitting weather :)]!

Today we’re sharing some of our fave brunch spots in the 805.  But friends, this is a two-way street — so if you have a fave brunch spot or two that we haven’t listed, please share in the comments below 🙂

How To: Put Together the Ultimate Charcuterie Plate {featuring Boutique Wine Club}

So… I have a confession.

I. LOVE. CHEESE.  Of all kinds. Unconditionally. Head over heels. Wanna marry it. Obsessed.  {Phew, thanks for listening. I feel so much better with that out in the open.}

But, a man cannot live on cheese alone [that’s how the saying goes, right?].  A perfectly-balanced cheese plate needs more than just, well, cheese.  This is when the fancy term “charcuterie” comes in.

Pro tip: it’s pronounced “shar-KOO-ter-ee” — now you can sound very French and sophisticated. You’re welcome.

We wanted to …

The Club Everyone’s Been Waiting For {& how you can JOIN NOW}

True story: 98{fd7f0a6624fbd2224f3c60e3404acbd2207eb416c38268e7e97265ebe361b912} of the time I buy wine, I look for the prettiest label.

Sure, I’d love to actually know what I’m buying, where it’s from, and hey, if I’d actually even like how it tastes.  But, as I peruse the wine aisle for the 437th time, I can’t help but go back to my old habits.

But, what if — just what if — there was a wine club that only sourced local wines from the Santa Barbara/Paso Robles area, delivered specialty-curated shipments directly to your door, promising ultra-premium, limited-production wines that you can’t find in grocery stores, at the lowest winery-direct pricing, that also …

How to Make [+ Achieve!] Goals in the New Year {2017}

When the New Year comes around, I can’t help but feel nostalgic about everything that happened during the past 365 days. With the retrospective look, however, comes the reminder to look forward — making goals is one major way to ensure you’re getting to where you want to be.

As my wise dad says, “Aim at nothing, and you will surely hit it.”

Another fave is from an equally wise man, Albert Einstein: “Life is like riding a bicycle; to keep your balance, you must keep moving.”

So, whether you’re all, “2016 was the best. year. EVER.” or you’re like, “Let’s never speak of 2016 again,” …

fitBallet + tank top giveaway! {Work It Wednesday}

ICYMI: Julie, founder of fitBallet and 805-native, brought her incredibly effective workout skillz all the way from NYC last year for a morning pop-up class at Studio Maesto in Santa Monica.  I probably should have planned a little better, because I definitely didn’t think I would sweat that much, and totally went to work looking like I had just run a marathon.

{psst… is this the first time you’re hearing about fitBallet? Check out our post  for the full 411 straight from the source, on Julie’s workout philosophy, career change, and dance background — or see this …
