Fun Holiday Gift + Craft Ideas {DIY}

Trying to pull together some last-minute decor or gifts for the holiday season??

{Of course, this has never happened to us… we’ve never, ever waited until the final moment to get working on something we had been putting off since Thanksgiving… 😉  …amiright?!}

Here are some holiday crafts you can throw together with most of the items being from the dollar store, and whatever else you might have lying around your house.  Ok, you miiiight have to take a quick trip to a local craft store, but you can totally squeeze it into your busy schedule.

How to Create Your Own Decor {DIY Painted Mirror}

One of the things that I love about my mother-in-law is that she is the best garage sale shopper.  She always finds the coolest pieces that have good bones, and knows the difference between a great find and a piece of you-know-what.  When we moved into our first home two years ago, she brought down a slew of amazing pieces to help decorate the empty spaces that come when moving from a 1-bedroom apartment to a 4-bedroom house.

One of my favorite items was this mirror, which has graced my mantle for the past year and a half.  It’s a great mirror, but it was ready for an update.

Chocolate Stir Spoons: Holiday Gifting {DIY}

When it comes to the holidays, it’s often overwhelming to think of how many people there are to buy for — especially if you work in an office with a ton of coworkers!

There are a ton of great DIY gifts floating around the cyber-verse (ahem, Pinterest), but here is one of my new favorite gifts that you can give to bosses, co-workers, administrative assistants, your mail carrier, your child’s teacher, and anyone else that unexpectedly gave you a gift but you awkwardly didn’t get them ANYTHING.

Pumpkin Painting Party {DIY}

Pumpkins don’t have to be carved to look festive — you can paint them, too!  I hosted a little pumpkin painting party the other night for a group of college girls that I mentor, and it definitely helped get us into the fall spirit!

Gather the following supplies:

Mini pumpkins Craft paints of many different colors Paper plates (for your “palette”) Painter’s tape Paint brushes of varying sizes Glitter Cups of water (for rinsing your brushes)
