The Perfect Date and a true Hidden Gem {local eats}

I know, I know. Topanga Canyon??? The valley? And the road isย sooo windy. Well, hear me out. Inn of the Seventh Ray is one of the most quintessential restaurants Iโ€™ve been to in the area. It is the perfect venue for a special event, such as a Bridal or Baby Shower, and an idyllic spot for a romantic date. I’d say it’sย definitely worth the trek.

My first visit to the Inn was for my sister-in-lawโ€™s Baby Sprinkle (it was her second baby, hence the sprinkle), and oh.my.gosh was I in heaven. It’s the cutest placeย in the most picturesqueย setting — tucked away in the …

Farm Fresh to You {local eats}

{note: I’m gonna be real with you guys right now… I’ve attempted to write this post about 4 different times, but every time my Farm Fresh to You box comes in, I start eating the produce and completely forget to take pictures. ย #sorrynotsorry}

Aboutย 2ย years ago, I got a sweet Groupon deal for Farm Fresh to You, a farm-to-front-porch organic produce delivery service that, well, brings organic produce from the farm to your front porch.ย (obvs)

Peach Cobbler Recipe {local.eats}

Today I was really in the baking mood for some reason and decided to stop by Underwood Farmsย in Moorpark to see what fruit they had in season to make a cobbler. ย ย I settled on some delicious peaches and since my husband and I are currently staying with my parents due to our house remodel (more like house overhaul– more on that later) and my mom is gluten free, I made a healthy gluten free peach cobbler. ย And let me tell you– it was really good. ย So I’ve got the recipe for you and some enticing pictures ๐Ÿ™‚

Brett and I are borderline obsessed with Reel Inn, a great ‘dive’ bar/fish market that serves up a mean fish taco – and Taco Tuesday is our favorite time to visit. ย We stopped in on a whim this past Tuesday as we carpooled toward home down the PCH.

$4.50 gets you 2 big grilled tilapia fish tacos, and we like to wash it down with a cold brew. ย On warm days, we take advantage of the awesome patio under market lights, sitting on …

HelloHarvest {organic produce delivery}

helloharvest-bin

Eating locally grown, sustainably-farmed produce is all the rage these days — and for a pretty good reason. It’s so inspiring to see how our generation has shifted toward not only eating healthier, but supporting local farms. Farmers markets are a great way to buy produce, I just never seem to be able to go to them [12 hour nursing shifts are not conducive to mid-day farmers markets].ย I was really excited when I heard aboutย HelloHarvest, a business that delivers locally grown and sustainably-farmed agriculture products straight to your doorstep (no need to change out of your PJs to run to the store or …
