When do you get your Christmas tree?
The day after Thanksgiving (every year, without fail) my parents would load up the car with all four kids, a big blanket, and a huge roll of twine, and head to a local Christmas tree farm. Once the first few notes of the Amy Grant Christmas album started playing, everyone knew it was officially Christmas tree time!
…alright, thanks for letting me have …
Big dinners and holiday parties is one of the reasons why I love this time of year. But we all know hosting friends and family can also be super stressful. Last year Mark and I hosted Thanksgiving at our new house and I definitely was stressed. We had just moved into our new home, had a new baby, and were hosting family from out of town. I was having major mom brain/sleep deprivation thanks ot my adorable 2 month old, so I had a vision of what I wanted to do, but no real plan.
And when I started laying out my generic plan of …
I don’t know about you, but I’m just a little obsessed with Christmas. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year and now that I have a family of my own with two little girls, I love it even more. I especially love that the holiday season focuses on spending time with friends, family and loved ones. 1. You will no doubt be attending tons of parties + dinners over the next week — don’t show up empty-handed! We have some easy tutorials for great hostess gifts that will cost you pennies [let’s face it — Christmas time gets a liiiiittle expensive!].
Mulling spice bags hung on a bottle of wine are perfect for getting people into the Christmas “spirit” (see what I did there?), and Chocolate Stir Spoons are a crowd-pleaser!
1. Interested in throwing a fun and easy Christmas get together?? We recently sat down with Kristine Bocchino from The Tasting Room at the Four Seasons Westlake Village on how to host the perfect wine pairing event and you can read all about it here. We guarantee your friends will be wanting your party to become an annual event.
Things I learned this Fakesgiving:
I can fit 80 people (and 10 children under the age of 4!) in my backyard, Three turkeys are juuuuust barely enough to feed a small army, Egg nog + Kahlua is a very tasty and satisfying treat to wind down at the end of a successful party, and Fakesgiving has become bigger than I ever even imagined.
I’m still processing everything from last Saturday’s 6th Annual Fakesgiving festivities, but if I were to sum it up in one word, it would be: AWESOME. Here’s a photo recap of how it all went down.
**But first, I need to give a special LL805 …
Can you believe Christmas is in only 3 days! This holiday season has gone by so fast for us here at LL805. We’ve been super busy with work, moving, having a baby, holiday festivities and of course blogging 🙂 We hope you guys have had a wonderful holiday season so far spent with family and friends. We are going to take the rest of this week and next week off from blogging to soak in the last of the Christmas season and 2014. But we wanted to host one last giveaway to say thank you to all of you!
We are so grateful to live …
