The Ultimate Guide to Visiting Sequioa National Park {local getaway}

Luke and I just spent a recent weekend at Sequioa National Park for our 4 year anniversary… and it was awesome. If you haven’t been yet, or it’s just been awhile, I definitely recommend it. We were looking into Zion and Yosemite for our anniversary, but both were a little too last minute to plan (and a bit further distance), so we opted for Sequioa — which is just a 4 hour (mostly beautiful) drive from home! img_9205img_9205 Sequioa National Park …

How to Travel Abroad with a Baby [and actually enjoy it!]

My husband and I have a serious case of the travel bug.

Everyone always told us, “Get your traveling done now, because it’s over once you have a baby!”  Well, if there’s one thing that annoys me, it’s when people tell me how my life has to be.  So… we traveled anyways.

Before our little one was 9 months old, he had already been on 12 flights.  We …

Five Friday Faves {This Week’s Edition}

Spring has definitely sprung, which means love, new life, and apparently TRAVEL are in the air.  For some reason, this time of year makes us filled with wanderlust, whether that’s in the form of a local getaway, or an international adventure.

Hayley just returned from a missions/tourism trip to Cuba, Tanisha and Hayley went camping with their family in Santa Barbara, and Nicole is heading to Japan tomorrow — so, naturally, we are making this a travel-themed post 😉

1. RAREFORM in Cuba:: Hayley partnered with our friend’s super awesome company (recently featured on Shark Tank!) that repurposes billboards into super durable, one-of-a-kind bags. …

A New York Holiday {Exploring the Big City}

I just got back from New York a couple weeks ago and was asked about some of my favorite things to do, see, eat in the big city. I was there on business, but was fortunate enough to have my mom and sister join me to stay through the weekend! Here are some highlights from my holiday visits to New York!

First, walking around the various neighborhoods like Soho, Chelsea, Greenwich (my favorite:)…new york holiday vacation - locallove805 - Greenwichnew york holiday vacation - locallove805 - Greenwich

Vintage Airplane Nursery Reveal

In the 7+ years that we’ve been married, my husband and I have been fortunate enough to do some traveling.  One year ago today, in fact, we were in Marrakesh, Morocco in the middle of a geographically-insane trip that also took us to Moscow, Prague, Madrid, Lisbon, and Barcelona… I’m exhausted just thinking about it.

When we moved into our house 3 years ago, we wanted a fun way to remember all of the places we’ve traveled together — so, we went a little “big” and bought this awesome map from National Geographic.  We mounted it on the wall in our office (with …

Carry-On Necessities {Airplane Kit DIY}

Yeah yeah yeah, I know this is a “local” blog, but sometimes we have to leave this area that we call Paradise, and check out the rest of the world 😉

By the time you read this, I will be winging my way to Maui for our 7th anniversary/babymoon (yes, I’m preggers — yayyy!).  And, Hayley is currently in South Africa with her hubby for a 2 1/2 week adventure + safari!  Needless to say, our team at LL805 has a serious case of wanderlust.

This post was originally inspired by our latest trip a few months ago, which involved a 12 1/2 hour long plane …

Wanderlust Work-It-Wednesday {no excuses}

If I were to put a figure to it, I would say approximately 60-70{fd7f0a6624fbd2224f3c60e3404acbd2207eb416c38268e7e97265ebe361b912} of my vacation planning involves thinking about what kind of food I’m going to eat.  No, seriously.  When we went to N’Awlins last April, I literally had a checklist. #notkidding

It is so fun to splurge on vacation — but, you can still balance fitness on the road, too!  In fact, this is one of our most favorite travel tips to make you feel like a ‘local’: work it out.

Seriously!  Going on a run allows you to see neighborhoods and landmarks you might not have seen otherwise.  Ducking into a cycling …
