This weekend is also a great time to explore the Santa Barbara Public Market. You guys this place is awesome!  If you are a foodie or a wino (like us!!) then this is the place for you.  The SB Public Market offers handcrafted, regionally-sourced and sustainably-made foods in the heart of downtown SB.  They also have a commissary kitchen where they host cooking classes, local chef highlights and winemakers dinners.

There are two great events going on this weekend for you to explore the SB Public Market.  This Saturday Dec. 6th, you can sip champagne and celebrate the holidays at one of their exclusive champagne tasting events hosted by Wine + Beer and The Kitchen (two of SB Public Market’s shops).  Not will you only get to taste 11 different champagnes (yes that’s right 11!), but their will be food pairings and festive decor as well.  Now if that doesn’t get you all giddy inside I don’t know what will.  Well maybe the 20{fd7f0a6624fbd2224f3c60e3404acbd2207eb416c38268e7e97265ebe361b912} discount on purchases of 6 bottles or more will help 😉  Again be sure to RSVP and check out their website for more details and times.

Now for a more family friendly event, the SB public market invites the community to join them for a holiday festival from 10:30am-5pm on Saturday Dec. 6th.  There will be a special visit from Santa Claus, holiday cookie decorating, seasonal tastings and live entertainment. You’re whole family will be sure to have a great time and you can also nab some great gifts for family and friends.

Riiiight, like you need us to tell you that it’s shopping season?!  Well, not to stress you out, but there’s less than 3 weeks until Christmas, and only a week and a half until Hanukkah… still not sure what to get your acquaintances or co-workers?  Keep it simple, and whip up a few Mulling Spice Bags, tie them around a bottle of wine or a jug of apple cider, and call it a day.

If you haven’t attended one of Malibu Wines Sips n’ Giggles events yet, then now is the perfect time to do so! [note: this event is usually held at Malibu & Vine, but they are currently closed for renovation]

Tonight starting at 7:30pm Malibu Wines is hosting their Ugly Sweater Sips ‘n Giggles wine tasting and comedy show.  The cost is only $5 at the door (but be sure to RSVP before!).  So we recommend you throw on your favorite ugly Christmas sweater (it gets you a discount on wine!), grab some friends and head on over for a good laugh and some great wine!  Feel free to bring your own dinner; however, there will be food available for purchase as well.

While you’re headed up the 101 on your way to the awesome Santa Barbara events, keep on driving to the northern 805, which is where Nicole will be this weekend — San Luis Obispo!  Her plans include visiting the Madonna Inn and Apple Farm Inn, both quaint and fun places to stop in for a night {or, even just to grab a bite to eat!}.  We’re sure they will be decked out for the holiday season (stay tuned on our Instagram page for photos)!

Make a mini road trip of it — start with breakfast at Summerland Cafe, then continue your travels for part deux of breakfast in Solvang for some yummy ebelskivers!  Take a quick look-see at the ostrich farm (watch your toes — those things are vicious!}, then walk through downtown Pismo before turning inland on your way to SLO.  Let’s be real — you could spend an entire week traveling only 200 miles of the 101, and still continue to find little gems along the route.  It’s pretty much the greatest stretch of highway ever. created.

xx~
