This Week’s Edition {eat. shop. play. explore.}

Wow can you guys believe it’s March already?? Time is just flying by and Spring is almost here {insert happy dance here!}.  It is supposed to be another beautiful weekend here in Southern California and we hope you all enjoy it.  This week’s edition is full of where to eat, shop, play and explore in the 805 the next few days.  Oh, and don’t forget Sunday is the dreaded Spring Forward where we lose an hour of sleep…ahhhhh!   At least it brings us those long summer days, right? 😉

This past Monday was the grand opening of Le Pain Quotidien at the Westlake Plaza.  Le Pain Quotidien, which means “the daily bread” in French, specialized in all things delicious– think fresh baked bread, pastries, homemade granola, sandwiches, soups, wine and beer and so so much more. They even mention coming in for bowls of coffee, which is exactly how we like our coffee {lots of it!}. Le Pain Quotidien will soon become your favorite place for starting your day with that bowl of coffee and delightful breakfast, a midday lunch break, or an afternoon bite.  They also have lots of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options.

Both were delicious (my nephew kept saying cookie because he wanted more haha) and the place was packed.  Le Pain Quotidien is already becoming a local favorite! {And of course I have to share a pic of Reese because she’s just too cute with those chubby cheeks}

Head over to the Shoppes at Westlake for a Health & Beauty trunk show at All Tressed Up this Saturday from 12 – 4pm. Trunk Show participants include Lorna Jane, Juice Ranch and Stella & Dot. Enjoy special discounts and offers, free samples and more! We were lucky enough to attend their grand opening event and had such a great time checking out their beautiful space and of course we left with amazing hair styles.

This weekend is the perfect time to get outside, enjoy the lovely spring weather and try something new.  So why not take a free mountain bike basic skills clinic put on by CORBA (Concerned Off-Road Bicyclists Association).  The clinic takes place this Saturday from 8am-12pm in gorgeous Malibu Creek State Park and if you haven’t seen it lately now is the time.  Thanks to all of the rain we’ve had recently, Malibu Creek State Park is so green! For more information check out their MeetUp page here.

P.S. our very own Nicole and her husband Brett recently went on a mountain bike ride with a MeetUp group and although Nicole may have fractured her wrist because she is THAT hard core {more on that later}, they had an amazing time!  And hence the reason that a basic skills clinic can be really helpful for those getting into mountain biking.

This weekend, we (Tanisha and Hayley) are heading to Santa Barbara for a day getaway. The weather is going to be just perfect, as usual, and we are really excited for some sister time [the boys are staying at home, most likely golfing and heading over to Lowes or Home Depot]. We are going to have brunch at the Outpost in Goleta, a Kimpton Restaurant. Our mouths are already watering and we cannot wait to share photos with you (seriously, check out their menu). Then we are going to play around SB a little more and head on back home that evening — so be on the lookout for some updates from Santa Barbara (the perfect local getaway).

Local Brunch - LocalLove805Hope you all have a great weekend in the 805 savoring the glorious warm spring weather! Let us know what you are up to by tagging us on Facebook and Instagram @locallove805! We love to hear from you all and see what fun things you are up to! You all inspire us!
