A Weekend Recap {Insta-Good Moments}

This weekend felt pretty busy, anyone else? I think because we jumped the gun with a Cinco de Mayo celebration mid-week, so it felt much longer. Mother’s Day was a nice close to the weekend though. Here’s a look into our weekend events — and PS, if you’re not already, make sure to follow us Instagram for these posts and more!

As mentioned, we started the weekend early with a little Cinco de Mayo celebration. We headed out to Cisco’s in Thousand Oaks for $3 tacos, huge Corona’s, sombreros and a Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn sighting (!!). No joke, they were hanging out there and it was awesome. We are BIG fans and loved seeing them out as locals… dare I say it, “they’re just like US” 😉Cisco's Thousand Oaks - Westlake - Cinco de Mayo celebration - Mexican food - beer - happy hour- LocalLove805 - LL805I’m fortunate to be able to work from home on Fridays. It’s always nice to take a break from the commute and stay in sweats all day:) #WFHFridayswork from home - WFH - sweats - comfy - but first coffee - LL805 - LocalLove805

My sister and I got in a little shopping this weekend and decided mid-way through to stop for some coffee at Bean Crazy in Thousand Oaks. We both ordered a Macchiato and benefited from the caffeine pick-me-up. #butfirstcoffeeCoffee - but first coffee - local coffee shops - Bean Crazy Thousand Oaks - dark side - LocalLove805 - LL805

The weather was surprisingly pretty crummy this weekend. But it’s okay because we need the rain, right?! #whereareyouElNino

What  semi-crummy weather is good for, is a lazy day cuddled up on the couch and also, the opposite – running. I  last much longer running in cool weather without the sun beaming down on me, so I took advantage and made myself get off the couch for a run. It was actually a great run, but when I saw these dark clouds, I realized I should book it back home before I got poured on. Don’t worry, I made it back in time 🙂LocalLove805Finally, the highlight of the weekend, Mother’s Day! Because who doesn’t love mothers 🙂 We hosted a brunch at our brother and sister-in-law’s home. We ate the food too fast for me to capture a photo (but seriously :/). Here’s all the baked goods that we enjoyed from Tehachapi though (our grandparents and brother’s mother-in-law live there)! #YUMDIY Mother's Day Brunch - LocalLove805brunch treats - baked goods - LocalLove805 - Mother's DayMother's Day - LocalLove805 Mother's Day - LocalLove805 - Anthem ChurchNicole went out for breakfast with her family and stayed in the night before but the highlight was her pregger sister flying out for the weekend!Mother's Day - pregnant sisters - LocalLove805 - same due date - new momsHow cute are they?!

The sun finally came out on Sunday and it was warm enough to play in the pool — well, mainly just the kids, but we dipped our feet 😉pool time - summer - sun - LocalLove805How was your weekend?!
