Happy Halloween, Local 805-ers!!!

This week’s edition, like most, has a lot going on. But this is an extra special week because a) it’s Halloween and b) we’re supposed to get some rain- yay for fall!!

We have family-friendly events, Halloween parties for the young socialites, and community charity events! Check it out and let us know what you’re up to this Halloween weekend in the comments below.

As you have probably noticed, we really like Enegren Brewing, and tonight they are offering discount glasses of beer from 6-9pm for those in a Halloween costume! They will have their year-round and seasonal beers, as well as special release beers.  So throw on your costume and head on over there!

Ladyface Alehouse & Brasserie is having their 5th Annual Halloween Party tonight from 9 pm-2 am.  Not only will there be plenty to eat and drink, of course, but they will also be having live music and door prizes for the best costumes! They are featuring special Ladyface Halloween cocktails tonight, as well! Admission is free with costume, or VIP tickets are available for purchase for $20.

Sagebrush Cantina is hosting a Halloween Party & Costume Contest tonight starting at 6pm with FREE admission (must be 21 or older). There will live music starting at 10:30, a costume contest, and lots of food & drinks to be had.

Many of our local restaurants are featuring fall seasonal menus that you must try out! Today we highlight Paul Martin’s amazing Fall Happy Hour, everyday from 3 – 8pm. Their Happy Hour Menu features $5 and $9 dishes and drinks and the special “burger + fries + beer” for $13 (now that’s a deal!). And, for the fall season only, they are offering a specialty cocktail: the The Bulleit Rye Old Fashioned (our husbands’ favorites), as well as wide selection of craft beers including local Wolf Creek Brewery’s Howlin’ Hefeweizen. Get there, STAT.

If you’re looking for a family friendly Halloween events, we’ve got a few for you…

Head to Malibu for the “Malibooo” Country Mart tonight from 4-6pm.  This event is also FREE and will feature trick-or-treating at participating stores as well as a children’s costume contest (and the grand prize is a $100 gift certificate!!!).

Trunk or Treat at Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center tonight from 3-5pm. Dress up your little ones for some trick-or-treating fun put together by local businesses. The event is FREE and will include popcorn, fire trucks from Station 125, live DJ by Party Zone, Foggy Forest, games/prizes and candy (duh)!

The Bridge Evangelical Free Church Harvest Carnival is today, from 6 – 8:30pm only 20 cents per ticket! Kids will enjoy: trunk-or-treat, candy, raffle, food, carnival games, photo booth, giant slide and costume contest!

Trunk or Treat at First Baptist Church of Thousand Oaks starting at 7pm tonight! Everyone’s welcome to this free event featuring lots of neat trunks being decorated, candy, carnival games, face painting, funnel cakes, and food.

Oak Park Community Center’s Halloween Carnival form 5:30pm to 8pm tonight. Event includes trick-or-treat village, enchanted forrest, games/prizes, food & beverages and more! Admission is $2 for ages 2 and up.

Finally, the infamous Underwood Family Farms is offering FREE admission to those dressed in full costume this weekend for their Fall Harvest Festival (normally $15 on weekends, $3 on weekdays; open 9am – 6pm).

If you are still feeling the Halloween costume spirit come Saturday, then head over to the Dia De Los Muertos Celebration in Camarillo.  This event is from 11am-6pm and there will be a lot to explore- face painting, local food and craft vendors, live performances and a traditional ceremonial procession.

The Conejo Valley “Mud Crazy” Mud Run 5k is this Sunday from 8:30am – 1:30pm at Dos Vientos Community Park in Newbury Park (proceeds support the Thousand Oaks Teen Center).

The 3rd Annual Bark for Life of Westlake Village is this Sunday. Registration begins at 10:30am and the opening ceremonies start at 11am. Registration is $20 per walker and dog, $5.00 for an additional dog. Participants receive a Bark for Life bandana, dog tag and swag bag (proceeds go to American Cancer Society).

10th Annual SOAR Run through the Orchards in Moorpark is on Sunday. Onsite registration opens at 7am, the 10k starts at 8am and the 5k at 8:30am. For more info, click here.

This Saturday from 4-9pm come support Unlikely Heroes at Rock it to the Core, a rock-infused, charity driven, yoga event at Calabasas High School. Engage in some community while helping fight to end human trafficking.

Join Run for Love to fight domestic violence at the 5k Run/Walk for Love in Goleta on Saturday. Registration is at 8am and the run/walk begins at 9am, ceremony is at 11am.
