This Week’s Edition {eat. shop. play. explore.}

Yes, WEEKEND. [’nuff said.]

{eat [and drink]}.

Mark Twain once said, “Too much of anything is bad, but too much champagne is just right.” Wise, wise man, that Mark Twain.

Why not stop by The Stonehaus at Westlake Village Inn this Sunday?!  The Veuve Clicquot Champagne truck will be pulling in and serving some champs from 10am til 1pm!  Click here to RSVP.  I’m personally looking forward to trying their Yellow Label bubbly — so join us, why don’t you?

I can NOT wait to try out the DesignBar Studio in Thousand Oaks!  It’s like that place is my Pinterest board, just blown up, on steroids, and in a store front. has an incredible deal that I must get — $35 (save if you buy with a friend!) for a Skills and Frills workshop, where you can make super sweet stuff like string art and dream catchers, or learn the art of floral arranging and cocktail mixology!

I am personally REALLY looking forward to this weekend — the UCLA Football home opening game is this Saturday at the Rose Bowl, and we will be there! Granted, I’m not much of a football-watching person, but I do in fact love tailgating and appetizers.  Which is half the battle, right?

Tickets are general admission for $20, but you can show up at 1pm (for a 7pm game) and spend time walking around, tailgating, or hanging out in the FanZone — a great [and FREE] area with lots of food vendors and interactive activities for all ages.  I better see you there! I’ll be the one completely dominating the competition at SpikeBall {it’s the “new” CornHole} ;).  Cue the 8-clap…! 😉

Need to get away?? I don’t blame you, especially with an Albino Monacled Cobra on the loose! [UPDATE: fear not, he has been found and is currently in captivity — we can all rest easy now!].  Hop on the Amtrak Surfliner and cruise up the coast to B-E-A-Utiful Santa Barbara, SLO or even down to San Diego!

Depending where you take the train, there’s a couple great Living Social deals we wanted to share with you! If you head to Santa Barbara anytime soon, there’s a one-night Stay at Hotel Milo with ocean views and if you decide to go further north, there’s a two-night escape at Sycamore Mineral Springs which includes wine, spa and dining credits — sounds amazing.

Hayley suggests some great areas in Funk Town, as well as a fave brunch place and the gorgeous Santa Barbara Public Market! Hint: there’s also a Travelzoo Deal for an Oceanfront Breakfast for 2 at the Four Seasons Santa Barbara — only $44!

I know you’re still trying to recover from Labor Day Weekend, but don’t slow down yet!  Summer is slipping quietly away, so soak it in while you can — ok, who am I kidding, it’s gonna be 75 and sunny through February… but just in case! 😉
