If you live in the Conejo Valley area and told me that you hadn’t been to Stonehaus in Westlake Village yet, I probably wouldn’t believe you. Or I would repeatedly ask you “why! WHY!?” There’s nothing you cannot like about Stonehaus – thanks to their beautiful grounds and ambiance, delicious food, great entertainment & events and of course, large variety of amazing wines which you can taste or buy by the glass and bottle (plus, they have a full-bar with a great beer and spirits selection for any non-vino people — if that’s even a thing ;).
As many of you probably know, Stonehaus hosts some pretty great local events, from their holiday brunches to Oktoberfest to live music nights. We were super excited to be invited to their 2012 Bottle Release Event just last month (especially since my husband and I were able to get a little date night out of it sans baby!).
Did you know that the vines on their property are not just for “decor”, but they are actually growing grapes to make their own wine? Yup, right here in Westlake Village. And several different types of wine at that! My husband and I had no idea they made their own wine, so we were excited to taste them and learn about their winemaking process.
We were able to taste three different estate grown wines: a Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Each wine was paired with specialty cheeses, charcuterie and olives. They all were amazing wines, but I would have to say my favorite was the Syrah. So smooth, delicious and full-bodied!
My husband and I had a great time tasting wine and mingling with other Stonehaus lovers. It was a great event – always love the opportunity to visit with fellow 805-ers in the community! And always love spending time at Stonehaus.
What’s your favorite thing about Stonehaus? Have you tried their Estate Wines? #spreadthelove #sharingiscaring #winedown #winenot
