Happy Work-it-Wednesday! We have a special WIW post for you today because a) it includes eating and b) it’s the perfect date. So you’re welcome in advance. 😉
As we mentioned last week, Four Seasons Westlake Village partnered up with INTERMIX to offer free yoga classes Saturday mornings 8:30-9:30am for a limited time. Not only is Yoga at the Pagoda a great way to start your Saturday and get in some fitness, but it also makes for a great date.
Nicole and I headed over there last Saturday morning with yoga mats in hand. Of all the days of the year, it happened to rain the night before and the morning of so we had the yoga class inside, but don’t you worry- we still took some photos for you after in the sunshine!:)
The class was fantastic and was led by experienced yogi, Brian Hyman, who can more typically be found instructing classes at Equinox Westlake Village and Agoura Power of Yoga. Brian also offers private sessions, corporate wellness programs and more – check out his website and make sure to follow him on Twitter (@BrianHymanYoga) and Facebook for local updates!
Now I am by no means an expert yogi, but I have definitely had my fair share of yoga classes and am pretty familiar with the basic yoga poses – tree, warrior, downward dog, etc. This class had a fair amount of the those poses, but it also incorporated a lot of new poses and flows that Nicole and I were not as familiar with (and there was actually no warrior pose this time!). This added variety and made it a bit more challenging than a lot of other classes I’ve taken before. Nicole and I especially appreciated that aspect of the class – plus, now we seem even more experienced with our versatile moves!
After the yoga class, we headed over to the Lobby Lounge for a post yoga brunch – and boy was it a treat. Let me just tell you now, the Farmers Market Breakfast at Four Seasons is a must-try.
First, we visited the buffet line which had corn beef hash, bacon, chicken sausage, potatoes and homemade biscuits & gravy (Brett & Luke especially loved the gravy!). Oh ya, we invited the boys to brunch after because we knew they’d be upset if they missed out on this.
Next, we headed over to the omelette station where you create your own custom omelette – I ordered an egg white omelette with spinach, tomatoes, peppers and sausage- mmm!).
There’s also a gourmet cheese & meat section along with freshly baked pastries and bagels. They even make their own flavored cream cheeses and jams!
You can choose from a selection of sweet breakfast dishes and desserts like their special Pumpkin Bread Pudding, Mini Belgium Waffles, Yogurt Parfaits, Muesli and/or dress your own Oatmeal!
And for more healthy options, they have smoothies, fruit and granola!
I’d say we were pretty satisfied with all the options.
The Farmers Market Breakfast is offered on weekends from 7:30a – 11:30a at the Four Seasons Westlake Village and this Saturday will be the last of the Yoga at the Pagoda series- so make sure to mark your calendars now for your free class!
